Lorenzo Tesi Awarded an ERC Starting Grant
Dr. Lorenzo Tesi, Emmy Noether Junior Group Leader at the University of Stuttgart and IQST Fellow, has been awarded an ERC Starting Grant for his research on molecular spin qubits. His project, PLASMOLE-QIT, aims to develop new approaches for detecting and controlling individual molecular spin qubits at the nanoscale, paving the way for new applications in quantum sensing and molecular-based quantum technologies.
The ERC Starting Grant builds on Tesi’s research into molecular spin qubits and continues a research direction that has also received support from IQST. In 2025, his work was funded through the IQST Boosting Programme, which supports early-stage projects exploring new ideas in quantum science and technology.
